Britton Miller

Britton moved to Charlottesville from Florida in 2006, where she worked for the non-profit Florida West Coast RC&D Council to promote sustainable community agriculture and water resources management.  Currently employed as a Community Engagement Specialist for Albemarle County, Britton is passionate about the importance of community participation in local government.  Before her position with the county, she worked for RCS to organize the first State of the Rivanna Teacher's Summit and coordinate the 2007 Rivanna River Days publication.  She has also rediscovered a childhood love of hiking since coming to Charlottesville, inspired by the incredible public parks, preserves, and trails to explore in the area. Britton has her B.A. in creative writing and literature from Lesley College in Cambridge,
Massachusetts, and lives in Albemarle County with her husband, Allen, and teen-aged children, Emma and Andrew.
