The Rivanna River is often referred to as "Mr. Jefferson's River" because Thomas Jefferson grew up on the shores of the Rivanna and later built his Monticello home along its banks. Sharing Mr. Jefferson's appreciation for this historic river, a group of Fluvanna County residents established The Rivanna Conservation Society (RCS) in 1990.

Working for Merchant Tires as the Chief Financial Officer Jim gained superior financial qualifications with strong background in working with business owners, corporate management, and outside professionals. Jim brings to the RCS years of leadership in developing and refining process improvements and installation of new systems. Jim is also well known for his outstanding interpersonal, team building and communication skills.
