SUMMARY:Watershed Education Field Trip - Journey (Day 1)
DESCRIPTION:RCA is hosting a watershed education field trip for 6th grade students from Journey Middle School and we need your help! \nStudents will rotate through benthic macroinvertebrate sampling\, chemical water quality testing\, and a fun ecology game called Macroinvertebrate Mayhem. \nNo education experience is necessary! We will host a virtual volunteer orientation on Thursday\, March 13 to walk through each activity\, and will pair new volunteers with more experienced ones during the field trips. SUMMARY:Darden Towe Tree Planting
DESCRIPTION:Join RCA and partners of the Rivanna River Forest Health and Resilience Project for a 2-hour volunteer workday in Darden Towe Park. We are planting new native tree saplings to restore tree canopy in an area recently cleared of invasive trees. \nRCA will provide all needed tools and instruction on-site. Volunteers should bring water\, wear sturdy closed-toe shoes\, and dress for the weather and dirt. Long pants are recommended. \nThis event is subject to change due to weather.
