Citizen Science Bacteria Monitoring Program Training Workshop – Jan 31st

Do you want to become a citizen scientist? The Rivanna Conservation Alliance (formerly StreamWatch) is the Rivanna Watershed’s local citizen science water monitoring organization. We are currently recruiting volunteers to help monitor bacteria levels in our streams.

In 2012, we launched a local bacteria monitoring program, which helps us to detect potentially harmful levels of E. coli in our waterways.  Sites are located in and around Charlottesville, and are monitored the first Saturday of the month.

No prior experience necessary.  Full training will be provided.

Contact Anne Dunckel at 434-249-5306 or anne@streamwatch.org to sign up.

The training will take place in the Central Jefferson Madison Regional Library in the Madison Room on the top floor of the library.  The library validates parking tickets at the two city garages.
